Our 4th-grade students studied the "People of the Longhouse", which refers to the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy) of the Northeast, whose traditional homes, longhouses, symbolized their united, clan-based society, emphasizing cooperation and shared living under one roof, a metaphor for their confederacy and cultural values, by building longhouses of their own. This term encompasses the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and later, the Tuscarora nations, known for their governance and deep connection to the land. Great work, Falcons.
