PUBLIC  NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the South Lewis Central School District at its meeting on June 18, 2013, accepted an offer to purchase the Constableville Elementary School and adjoining real property for the amount of $50,000.00.

The sale is subject to the provisions of Education Law §1804 (6) (c) that conditions the sale of property owned by a central school district upon the right of the qualified voters of the school district to submit a petition requiring that the question as to the sale of such property be submitted to a vote by the qualified voters of such district. Such petition shall be subscribed and acknowledged by at least ten per centum of the qualified voters of such district, and filed with the clerk of the board of education within thirty days of the adoption of such resolution. Upon the affirmative vote of a majority of the qualified voters, voting thereon, such resolution shall become effective.

In the event that no petition meeting the requirements of Education Law §1804 (6) (c) is submitted, the Board of Education shall complete the sale.

The offer to purchase is available for review at the office of the Clerk of the Board of Education during business hours:  8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday except holidays.
